FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COMMUNITY SEVA OPENS A NEW CENTRALIZED KITCHEN IN SANTA CLARA
San Jose, CA – Community Seva, a non-profit organization founded in 2013 reached a historic milestone on June 23, 2024, as volunteers, supporters and elected officials gathered to cut the ribbon on a new kitchen in Santa Clara, CA. This new kitchen will enable the organization that serves the unhoused community to double its capacity to serving 15,000 fresh meals per month.
The expanded kitchen space will allow Community Seva Inc. to increase the number of volunteers that can cook and serve, and will allow youth between the ages of 12-18 who were previously unable to participate in shelter activities. Now, these young volunteers can join in meal preparation, nurturing their spirit of giving and community involvement. This significant addition will enable Communiy Seva Inc. to launch and manage many more projects dedicated to assisting the unhoused community.
We are deeply grateful to the elected officials and their representatives who joined us to celebrate this momentous event. We would also like to thank all our volunteers and donors who attended the event and who worked tirelessly to make this dream a reality.
The event began with speeches from various elected officials, and Founder & President Nathan Ganeshan. This was followed by a ribbon cutting and cake cutting ceremony. Attendees then enjoyed a self-guided tour of the facility followed by some delicious food and drinks.
Thank you to partners who made Community Seva’s Grand Opening event a success by generously contributing mouth -watering treats and drinks: Mylapore Express, Jalsa Catering & Events, Aria Dining & Banquets and Organic Bakes by S.
“Happiness, laughter, smiles, love, and gratitude- all these emotions filled the kitchen today, when we officially inaugurated our central kitchen. Personally for me and for my Community Seva team, it was a dream come true. Let the Seva begin from our new kitchen and expand our selflessness to serve more people who are in need to ensure no one goes hungry.” – Nathan Ganeshan, Founder & President, Community Seva Inc.
