Having been a tiny part of Community Seva for over six years, I can only buy attest how this organization has grown manifolds and yet stuck to its core principles of charity through working at grassroot level and spurring change at several arenas – be it local, state, national or even international! Extremely proud to be associated with this organization that keeps giving.
I came to know about Community Seva a few years back; sponsored a breakfast at a family shelter. Got the opportunity to help cook breakfast for unhoused mother’s and children. Moved by the experience started volunteering for cooking breakfast almost every Saturday with a group of zestful, selfless, dedicated volunteers. The fulfilling part was when we serve the food to the thankful people. The sense of gratitude and satisfaction we derive from this is immense.
Having volunteered with Community Seva many times, I truly enjoy the dedication & passion that comes along with serving the needy. The volunteers & organizers are very meticulous in planning & execution. They plan from menu, grocery, funding and each service is executed & catered to the shelter/ people very well. Each time my family & I have been there – the satisfaction leaves us wanting to come back & serve.
At no point my kids felt that they couldn’t help being handicapped at their cooking skills, as there was always a way to help. By the end , the blessing received by the recipients of the meal is so fulfilling & worth it.
Community Seva was the first non-profit organization I started volunteering 7 years back but took a break during Covid, but now I am trying to put in more hours prepping meals for the shelters. I didn’t understand the impact of community seva until I attended their gala for 10th anniversary, 3000+ volunteers and 50 members in core team, I am glad to have found this place which works directly with displaced people serving basic necessities like food , shoes and shower/laundry and more. The commitment and dedication of Nathan, Shriya, Priya, Kavith, Praveen, Bharath, Saras, Chithra, Uma and many more that I have seen in person are infectious. Bay Area is a better place because of CS and their team.
A very well organized non profit with a great mission, leadership and dedicated teams of volunteers. Happy to be a part of the team. Its a joy to see the team beam with gratitude each time they serve the unhoused.
Community Seva is an exemplary non-profit organization with a lot of character. They not only work hard behind the scenes and do their part to solve world hunger, but also actively strive to gratify volunteers and their need for social engagement. This two pronged disposition is unique to Community Seva. The organization’s founder Mr.Nathan Ganesan is a great human being who’s awe inspiring in his own right. I would give it 6 starts if I could !
Kahlil Gibran said, ‘Work is love made visible.’ To me, that line is a testament to how much we gain, grow and offer through the work we do at Community Seva
It is the love with which every volunteer dedicates their time & skill to serve a hot plate of food & bring a smile on a homeless persons face
It is this consistent love that has helped Community Seva grow & reach higher heights year over year. It is this commitment to love & service that brings volunteers back week after week
I recently heard about Community Seva through a friend of mine and decided to go to their luncheon with my friend. I met Nathan and many other volunteers at the event and was blown away by the impact they are making in the bay area for people in need. I heard the stories first hand of 2 people at the event who were homeless and how Community Seva helped them get back on their feet. And now I have decided to donate time by volunteering for this wonderful organization regularly.
