District 24 – 2024 Unsung Heroes Award

On April 13th, 2024, Assemblymember Alex Lee hosted an event titled “District 24, 2024 Unsung Heroes.” The occasion aimed to acknowledge the remarkable contributions of 24 individuals within the community whose actions significantly impact the lives of others. These unsung heroes operate quietly, without seeking recognition or praise.

Among those honored, Community Seva had the privilege of celebrating two individuals as our very own heroes. First is Nathan Ganeshan, the driving force behind Community Seva, serving as its founder. His unwavering dedication and exemplary leadership have propelled our organization to its current stature. Every moment of Nathan’s existence is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the unhoused population in our cities. We cannot think of a person more deserving of this award.
The second honoree is Sim Gopalan, a pivotal core team member. Sim’s commitment shines through as he diligently oversees one of our sevas every Sunday, irrespective of personal challenges. Beyond his dedication to Community Seva, Sim volunteers fervently with many other organizations close to his heart and has been doing invaluable work with each of them.

We take immense pride in Nathan and Sim’s accomplishments, considering them integral to our organization’s fabric. They stand as beacons of inspiration for us all.
